ANIMALS, SOCIETY & SUSTAINABILITY

This section explores the complex relationships between humans and non-human animals from a variety of social, cultural, ethical, and political perspectives. It examines the role animals play in society, ranging from domestication and companionship to their representation in media and their roles in agriculture and the environment. Additionally, the section addresses the ethical and legal considerations of animal welfare, the environmental impacts of human-animal interactions, and the role of animals in fostering sustainable ecosystems.

In this direction, we will consider definitions and outlines covering the following SDGs goals:

Sustainable agricultural practices, anthrozoology and human health, ecological sustainability, climate impacts, habitats and biodiversity.

Thematic alignment with the UN targets. SDG 17 connects the programme through international scientific cooperation.
