SGEM Vienna GREEN - Sustainable Mission
As a fervent advocate for sustainability and a leader in fostering global scientific discourse on environmental challenges, the SGEM World SCIENCE Scholarly Society proudly upholds its mission as an SDG Publisher and the principal organizer of the SGEM Vienna GREEN International Scientific Conference "Green Science for Green Life"
Our current programme brings together researchers working on sustainable exploration; ecology, environmental economics, education and legislation; water, forest, marine and ocean ecosystems; energy and clean technologies; nano, bio and green technologies; animals and society; and artificial intelligence in green sciences.
Driving SDG-focused Research and Innovation
We publish research aligned with the programme’s thirteen thematic SDGs, supported by SDG 17 through international scientific cooperation. The connections include sustainable agriculture and soil health; environmental and human health; education; water and energy; a resource-efficient economy; innovation and sustainable cities; responsible production; climate action; marine and terrestrial biodiversity; and environmental governance. Our publications share these findings with scientists, researchers and practitioners worldwide.
Sustainable Conference Organization
In organizing the SGEM Vienna GREEN International Scientific Conference, we commit to sustainability in every aspect of our event planning and execution. This includes minimizing our carbon footprint through digital dissemination of materials, promoting eco-friendly transportation options for attendees, and selecting venues that adhere to green building standards. We aim to create a zero-waste environment where recycling and the use of sustainable materials are prioritized.
Engagement and Collaboration for a Greener Future
Our society believes in the power of collaboration across disciplines and borders to tackle the environmental challenges we face. The conference serves as a platform for fostering dialogue, sharing knowledge, and building partnerships among scientists, policymakers, industry leaders, and civil society to drive collective action towards a greener, more sustainable world.
Empowering Communities through Education and Advocacy
Beyond our conference, we are committed to educating and engaging communities on the importance of sustainability and the role of science and technology in achieving the SDGs. Through our publications, outreach programs, and the dissemination of conference findings, we strive to raise awareness and advocate for policies and practices that support environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
Continuous Improvement and Accountability
We recognize that sustainability is an ongoing journey. As such, we are committed to continuously evaluating and improving our sustainability practices as a publisher and conference organizer. We hold ourselves accountable to our community and the planet, ensuring that our actions consistently reflect our commitment to the SDGs and a sustainable future for all.
Our Programme and the Sustainable Development Goals
Our seven scientific directions connect to 13 thematic SDGs, with SDG 17 supporting international scientific cooperation. Explore all 14 goals below, or open the programme map. These connections follow our research topics and the United Nations SDG targets: thematic alignment, not UN endorsement or measured achievement.
