We aim to organize this event in accordance with the criteria of UZ 62 – Green Meetings and Green Events, as defined by the Austrian Ecolabel.

Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings and Green Events

The SGEM Vienna GREEN meets sustainability

Our dedicated team is working towards making our event as environmentally friendly as possible. We are committed to organizing this event by following the requirements for Green Meetings and Green Events, established by the Austrian Ecolabel. We encourage all participants to support our efforts and sincerely thank them all for their cooperation.

We believe that collectively, we can make a significant difference. Here's a summary of what we've done and how you, as delegates, can join us in this endeavor:

Our Sustainability Initiatives:

1.    Eco-Friendly Venue: We have carefully selected a venue that prioritizes sustainability, featuring energy-efficient facilities and recycling options. In addition, the Event location can be reached by public transport.
2.    Waste Reduction: Throughout the event, you will find recycling and composting bins to help minimize waste. Please make use of these bins and choose reusable or biodegradable options.
3.    Energy Efficiency: We are using energy-efficient lighting and encourage everyone to conserve energy by turning off lights and devices when not needed.
4.    Carbon Offset: To offset our event's carbon footprint, we have invested in carbon offset programs and re-new our car park with carbon-free vehicles.
5.    Sustainable Catering: Our catering choices focus on local, organic, and vegetarian/vegan options to reduce the environmental impact of food production. We use reusable or compostable tableware.
6.    Paperless Communication: Giveaways and PR material is reduced to the bare minimum to save natural resources. If used - all materials are made from recycled paper. We promote paperless communication for event materials such as agendas, brochures, and programs by using digital signage, email, and event apps for information dissemination.
7. Green Swag: Small-size packaging and other single-use items are avoided

How You Can Help:

1.    Sustainable Transportation: Use public transportation, carpool, bike, or walk to the event to reduce emissions.
2.    Waste Reduction: Please use recycling and composting bins, and avoid single-use plastics and disposables. Take your badge from the previous year and help us reduce the environmental footprint.
3.    Energy Conservation: Turn off lights, equipment, and devices when not in use.
4.    Water Responsibility: Conserve water in restrooms and during cleaning, and use provided water stations with reusable cups or bottles.
5.    Engage Actively: Attend sessions discussing green policies and practices, and participate in eco-friendly activities and workshops.
6.    Feedback: Share your feedback on our sustainability efforts, and help us improve for future events.
7.    Spread the Message: Be an ambassador for sustainability by sharing what you learn here with your networks.

Together, we can make this event not only a platform for discussion but also a model of sustainability. Your active participation in these efforts is essential to our collective success.
Thank you for joining us in our mission to promote sustainability and responsible practices.
